Chris and Richard met in Washington, DC in the summer of 2012. From their initial stint in DC, to their harrowing time in New York City for Richard's doctoral program, to Chris' pied-à-terre in Cleveland, COVID times in Chicago, and a triumphant return home to DC, they have grown into the couple they are today. Dare fail to mention their beloved dachshunds, Wolf and Rocky, who have moved along with them every step of the way.

After 10 years, Richard proposed to Chris in the gardens outside the Castell de Montjuïc during a trip to Barcelona. After two (almost three) years of engagement, they have decided to "elope" in our nation's capital along side their immediate families.
